WI Childrey Warren WTW Abstraction Closure and Hagbourne Hill WBS Upgrade

We provided commercial management for an installation of a new 450mm What does this stand for ->PE water main spanning 6.1 km and an upgrade of the pumping stations between Childrey Warren and Hagbourne. The contract was the only regulatory project within AMP6 which had to be operational by 1st April 2020 to prevent a £7m find from Offwat. Due to the late placing of the contract by SMBs client, the delivery programme was very tight. It required full co-ordination and co-operation of the civil engineers and Meica’s sub-contractors to have water flowing between the pumping stations by the regulatory date of 1st April.

We worked with the operational team on site to ensure the co-operation of the two main sub-contractors and to minimise costs due to disruption. The maintaining of this relationship between all parties enabled the operations team to co-ordinate works and reach a position where the project was 2 months ahead of schedule. This also resulted in the project costing less than what was budgeted for, despite numerous changes to the works information and extensive rescheduling of programmed works. We agreed final accounts with all sub-contractors one week prior to completion of works on site.
